Description

One large (58 mm diameter) and two small (21 mm diameter) Soviet hammer-and-sickle-emblems surrounded by laurel wreaths, laser-cut and -engraved in 1,5 mm strong silkboard.

To be used as wall-reliefs/plaques on administrative/government buildings or monuments, or as base decoration.

The hammer and sickle, in Russian: серп и мо́лот (serp i molot, “sickle and hammer”) is a communist symbol conceived during the Russian Revolution.
Originally the hammer represented the industrial proletariat, the sickle peasantry; combined they represented the worker-peasant alliance for socialism.

After WWII and the Russian Civil War, it became widely used as symbol for peaceful labour within the Soviet Union and international proletarian unity.
It remains commonplace in Russia and other former Union republics even after the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

Inspired by the 1917 design by Yevgeny Ivanovich Kamzolkin.

One for the scratchbuilders, this lasercut silkboard sheet features 40 square windowpanes, designed to be cut into segments at will and used to create angular windows of all sizes (but of course, nothing hinders you from using the complete frame as a complete window, on its own).

Includes 2 sheets of 0,3 mm thin acetate:
one featuring the total windowframe's outline, to mount as a solid sheet to it's back,
and one featuring lasercut windowpanes in the exact corresponding positions as the frame's panes.

You can either glue this sheet as one piece to the back of the window, or cut all panes loose and glue them separately in all frames (leaving you options to paint, matte, whitewash or depict them as shattered or even missing).

Size of frame: 52 x 83 mm.
Each windowpane measures 9 x 9 mm.
The slats are 1 mm wide.

Ultra-realistic, in-scale and safe-to-use “glass” to replicate broken window-glass in ruined buildings or vehicles.

Comes in a 10 ml screw-lid jar.

Quoted instructions (included):

This product is made for use in dioramas, replicating broken window glass in ruined buildings or vehicles.
It is made from acrylic material and looks just like broken glass, without the danger of cutting yourself, like when using microscope slide covers, for instance.

Before opening the jar, take a hobby knife or scalpel and cut through the label to unseal the jar. Open carefully.
The contents of the jar are irregular, there are bigger and smaller shards of glass, just like when breaking real glass.

Depending of course on the size of your diorama, the contents of this jar will last for quite a few projects, as it does not need very much to get that realistic sparkle on the ground. Use it as one of the final layers on your groundwork.

It can be glued using dilluted white glue (which dries transparent), or you can use a product like Scenefix from Treemendus.

First I place the diorama on a larger sheet of paper to catch all the glass that will fall off later, then I place some drops of glue where I want the glass to be and sprinkle the glass on it.

Once the glue sets, take the dio and tap it gently so the excess glass falls on the paper and can be saved for later use.

If the sparkle and shine is too much, dust it slightly with pigments or give some of the shards a dusty wash, after the glue has dried..

Of course it must be handled with care and kept away from children under age 14.

Our first small-scale set features one 3-part lancet-window kit, to be stacked and glued together, plus two separate rosewindows in 1:76th scale, lasercut in architectural silkboard.

Tall and narrow, with pointed arches, lancet-windows are typical of church edifices of the earliest European Gothic period, from 1140 onwards. They acquired the "lancet" name from their resemblance to a lance.

Rose- or Catherine- windows are particularly characteristic of Gothic architecture, though their origins are much earlier and they appear in various forms throughout the Medieval period.

Both windows' popularity was revived during the Gothic revival of the 19th century, so that they are seen in Christian cathedrals and churches all over the world.
